Q: What if my pick-up day falls on a holiday?
A: View the complete Holiday Schedule.
Q: What if there is inclement weather on my regular pick up day?
A: Due to weather-related issues, there MAY be a change in your regular pick-up schedule, depending on the severity and how the weather affects the driver’s route. However, please put your trash out on your regular pick-up day, as an effort will be made to pick it up as scheduled. If it is not picked up as scheduled, we ask that you leave it out for the following day.
Q: Which size wheeled trash toter should I choose?
A: Just click here to view and compare the sizes and capacities available.
Q: What type of garbage can be put out for pick up?
A: The best way to answer this is by going over what cannot be picked up. We DO NOT pick up the following:
•Wood
•Drywall
•Roofing shingles
•Brick
•Concrete
•Tires
•Conditioners and refrigerators with freon still charged in them
•Carpet in large quantities
•Car batteries
Q: Can I put a large item out?
A:If your garbage is picked up under a contract that your local municipality (borough, city, or township) provides, you must contact them for information first. If your municipality does not cover a large item, give Kreitzer Sanitation a call to get a quote for pick-up. If you are not picked up under a municipal contract, you can contactKreitzer Sanitation to get a quoted price.
Q: What can I put out for recycling?
A: Glass, Plastic, and Aluminum can be mixed in what is known as “commingle”. Most people put newspaper and cardboard in a grocery bag next to their recycling container. We find this works well.
*Note: NOT ALL MATERIALS ARE RECYCLABLE. Please make sure you check plastic containers and paper products for recycling symbols.
Q: Why are some items that I know can be recycled not acceptable to put in my bin for pick up (ex: Styrofoam, wax paper, cardboard from juice containers, electronics)?
A: Just because an item is recyclable does not necessarily qualify it to be curbside recyclable. Curbside recyclables are dictated by your local recycling centers. Local recycling centers can only accept recyclables they can process.
